ED vs MD IOS selection

Hello Team

In my office couple of CISCO devices IOS getting expire in Sep month [2960S]

I am planning to update before EOL of this IOS.

I am curious to know about ED [Early Deployment ]  vs MD [Maintenance Deployment ]  version which I have to select.

MD means the code has been recently updated to fix bugs.
However, it doesn't mean all MD are good. What version of the firmware are you talking about?
