facing a promblem with a swich

sir,

i am facing a promblem with a 3550 catalyst switch.

the mac address learned by 1 st port of a machine,when it is removedfrom port1 and switched to another port .the port shutdown.

Are you sure it's not spanning tree? Spanning Tree will block the port for 50seconds.???

If it's just an end user station make sure portfast is turned , it's possible you are not waiting long enough for spanning tree to forward or you could be plugging into a hardcoded port that is say 10 meg /half with a 100 meg nic . Verify port settings on client and the switch ports you are using .
