From Rom monitor mode how do you format the flash?

I am trying to format the bootflash from rommon using a 4000 switch. The switch complains that the bootflash must be formated first.

What command did you use at the rommon prompt?

I don't think you can "format" the flash from rommon but you can "delete" the

files and perform "squeeze" operation to recover the bootflash space.

rommon 1> del bootflash:cat4000.6-1-1.bin

rommon 2> squeeze bootflash:
