GNS3 - Slow Internet

Good evening

A simple scheme is presented in the following image, but my problem is about network performance. In my local network, I have 40Mbps, and when creating a virtual machine (bridge), without GNS3, I have done a speed test and it is correct, but when creating this small topology, where:

Windows 7 : 172.16.1.2/16

Router f0/0: 172.16.1.1/16

Router f1/0: dhcp

S* 0.0.0.0/0 [254/0] via 192.168.79.2
172.16.0.0/16 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
C 172.16.0.0/16 is directly connected, FastEthernet0/0
L 172.16.1.1/32 is directly connected, FastEthernet0/0
192.168.79.0/24 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
C 192.168.79.0/24 is directly connected, FastEthernet1/0
L 192.168.79.132/32 is directly connected, FastEthernet1/0

Before entering a page the ping to the gateway is normal, but when I start to perform a speed test, everything starts to fail.

Ping is very unstable, and the Internet is extremely slow.

So, my question is: when configuring a Cisco IOS (C7200) GNS3 do I have limited bandwidth, or is there a configuration that doesn't allow me to have real bandwidth?

Hi @gozarrojas ,

As @Julio E. Moisa  indicates, virtualization consumes resources from the host machine, in addition, device virtualization in GNS3 also limits bandwidth and throughput.

Hi

It could be because you are emulating a network into a virtual machine so it is taking resources of the local machine, check your GNS3 parameters and CPU utilization of the local (main) computer when you are running GNS3. Also check the negotiation full/half duplex  under router interface.
