High CPU Utilization Catalyst 2924

Hi

This Switch is in 84 Percent Of utilization of memory an 80 of CPU.

when i type the show proccess cpu the More consuming proccess are:

- Port Status Proc

- Address Deletion

- Address Learning

This Switch have a dot1q Trunk configured on one port

and VTP. Trhough this trunk is passing all the Vlans of the VTP Domain (60 Vlans)

The catalyst is running IOS 12.0(5)WC8

What could be the Problem ??

Hello,

there could be a problem with MAC address clearing or spanning-tree instability. Can you post the output of the command ?

show spanning-tree vlan vlan-id

Manually prune any vlans you don't need to be passed on the trunk this takes up resources even if the vlans aren't being used . What does show proc cpu show , is this normal ? If so you might want to see if there any known bugs for memory leaks for the version you are using .
