To add an IP address, the following tech tip should help out

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/8.html#topic4

For web interface, the following page should help

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/59.html

Thanks does mean it can be used for a 2950 series too as I can only see Catalyst 4500/4000, 5500/5000, 6500/6000? I see on our config vlan1 has an IP but I cant ping it....

Yes you can use those documents on the 2950 aswell.

If you have VLAN 1, all you need to to is

Switch(config)#interface vlan 1

Switch(if-config)ip address x.x.x.x a.a.a.a

(x.x.x.x being the ip address and a.a.a.a being the subnet)

Also dont forget to issue the "no shutdown" command on the interface.

The HTTP server should be on by default. All you would have to do is open a brower and put the ip you used in the above example and you should be able to connect in-bound.

Please rate if this helps
