I have 2 7206 routers connected across 2 Switches using HSRP. The interface keep on going between active and standby. What seems to be root of the problem is buried in this message can any one help.
%LINK-4-TOOBIG: Interface FastEthernet1/0, Output packet size o f 1518 bytes too big -Traceback= 600C3240 600C6A9C .
It would appear to be something to do with framing on the interface.
Can anyone explain what is happening

Likely you are using a switch to interconnect the two routers. Appearently you have mixed trunk links with access ports. Trunking adds four bytes to a packet and this could result in the message that you observe.
Please check port settings on routers & switches for mismatching trunk - nontrunk settings.

I have ensured that both ends of the trunking / Etherchannel are correct. VTP Transparent, 802.1q Trunking with no mode access. We are still getting the message though

So you are trunking to the router? Can you post the configuration of the routers ethernet ports and its IOS version (including whether its IP or IP Plus or whatever) and the configuration of the ports they connect to on the switches?
