IPv6 support on Cat3750

Is IPv6 support available on cat 3750 switches. If so, what version of the EMI software do I need to run for this feature?

Thanks for writing in.

The Catalyst 3750 supports IPv6 routing in hardware for maximum performance. As network devices grow and the need for larger addressing and higher security become necessary, the Catalyst 3750 will be ready to meet the requirement. This is mentioned at the link below.

However, currently the software does not support IPv6. Specific code that will support IPv6 has not been determined yet, but is targeted to be published on CCO in early 2005.

Yes you can deny all ipv6 traffic and yes ipv4 acls can exist no problem with ipv6 they are applied differently to the interface

This will show you how to apply ipv6 acls , both ip access-group and traffic-filter can be applied to the same physical/;logical interface
