Loopback Interface on cisco WS-C2940-8TF-S

hello,

can anybody help?

i'll create a loopback interface on cisco WS-C2940-8TF-S

but the switch say:

(config)#interface loopback 0

^

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

why? is it not possible to create a loopb on the 2940?

Hello,

the 2940 is a Layer 2 switch only and does not support loopback interfaces (which are actually a Layer 3 functionality).
