How do you document where your cables go? Right now we have notebook with each floor plan in it and we hand write the location of each jack on it. There has got to be a better way.
Any ideas would be very helpful.
Thank You

Topology view can help with the logical/physical connections, such as 6509, Int Gig 3/1 is connected 4507, Int Gig 2/1. But it's not gonna help much with the actual jack, patchpanel, fiber strand information.
There are several software packages that can help, but they are labor intensive and must be continually kept up to date.
Visio, NetVis or even a homegrown spreadsheet/database may help get a handle on things. Alot would depend on how large your network is and how often things get changed.
