Packet flow in HSRP running over VPC + meaning and use of "sup-eth 1" + "R" keywords

Hello Everyone,

I am studying for CCIE DC and I have some questions regarding HSRP on VPC, please refer the attached topology.

[A] Can someone please explain me the packet flow with source and destination MAC & IP in the whole path:

1) First scenario without "peer-gateway" command enabled traffic flow from

    -- Server 1 to Server 2

    -- Server 2 to Server 1

2) Second scenario with "peer-gateway" command enabled traffic flow from

    -- Server 1 to Server 2

    -- Server 2 to Server 1

[B] My second question is related to the "show mac-address table" command output on both N7K1 and N7K2. Well I don't have the Nexus devices with me therefore I have written the output as per the book and blogs that I have read. Output of the command is based on the VLANs and MAC address mentioned in the attached diagram. The output is based on without PEER-GATEWAY command on both Nexus peers.

In the output could anyone please explain the meaning and use of following with the actual traffic flow with source and destination MAC and IP:

1) "sup-eth 1"

2) "R"

3) "vpc peer-link"

Thanks,

Neeraj
