Providing Loopback on the router

Hi

I am trying to test a 1MB link end to end, is there a way I could give a loopback on the router rather than the CSU/DSU. There is a loopback remote command available, but this would require routers connected at both ends. But in my case at the remote end I have only a CSU/DSU & at my end I have a router & CSU/DSU. Thanks in advance.

Hi

Can you explain further as to why your remote end has just a CSU/DSU but not a router ?

Cisco support loopback on the router itself when it has build in DSU/CSU (loopback local, loopback dte). If external DSU/CSU is connect to our DTE port, loopback needs to be perfromed at DSU/CSU. Usually CSU/DSU has loopback button or command which can loop towards the DTE port on the router. Please refer to your CSU/DSU manual.
