Question about date of files in 2960X flash

We have a Cisco 2960X-48FPS-L. Issuing a “dir flash:” command lists all files, some if which display dates ranging from the year 2000 through to 2008 which is a time the product did not exist.

Switch#dir flash:
Directory of flash:/
2 -rwx 2072 Jan 16 2000 08:59:07 +00:00 multiple-fs
3 drwx 512 Jul 3 2008 21:31:20 +00:00 c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E5
668 drwx 512 Dec 7 2016 22:12:06 +00:00 dc_profile_dir

122185728 bytes total (95249920 bytes free)

I wonder if you’d be kind enough to clarify as to what could cause this inconsistency.

Hi,

it is happening if the switch is/was not having the correct time configured or sync from the NTP server.

Regards,
Deepak Kumar,

That's because NTP/SNTP isn't configured.
