I have a single host which is located remotely ( via WAN link) to a flat network
I have used IRB to bridge this host to the associated LAN network and allow me to manage both 1700 routers employed at each end of the link
The customer wants to filter access for this host to his LAN but is endeavouring to do this at IP level rather than layer 2 MAC level
Is this possible via another means of configuration?

You can only filter on IP if the traffic is being routed. If it is being bridged, the IP header is not even looked at. You can filter on mac address however with an access list in the 700 - 799 range.

I am aware of the above. I have requested the MAC addresses for filtering but this appears to be an issue for the customer to supply these details
He has supplied me IP ranges.
Is there a way of routing a supplied address from a flat network
I know I can by forming a segment but what of a single host
Hypothetically
Network 172.18.x.x/ 16 bridged using muxes
Host 172.18.175.6 connecting
With 2 routers and WAN link in between
