snmp logs on CW

WHAT configuration is needed for the switches (eg 3550) such that it will send activities like shutdown, rebooted, port down etc to the cisco works.

I've had snmp enabled on the switches already and was able to discover the switches but cant received such activities.

First tell it what your CW2K IP address is:

snmp-server host w.x.y.z somestring

Then pick the snmp traps you wish to receive:

snmp-server enable traps ?

Which application in CiscoWorks do you want to see the messages in? DFM uses SNMP so you will need to specify the server as a trap-receiver (snmp-server host [CW2K IP] [some SNMP string]).

If you want to get the messages via RME's Syslog, you need to specify:

logging [level of Syslog messages to receive]

logging [CW2K IP]
