Hi All,
I am trying to collect snmp taps using Windows NT4 and service pack6. Whenever I try to run SNMP log server to collect data, it come up with this message, "SNMP trap server bind error 10048 (162)". Can someone tell me how to solve this problem. What configuration do I need to change to get it working.
Please help and thanks in advance.
Regards
Sid

What's the application you're using to collect SNMP traps?
From the message you've given, it sounds like there's a problem with the app being able to pull the trap from the protocol stack (hence a bind issue?)

John,
I am using the CiscoWorks 2000. I can collect information in Syslog events but not snmp traps. Whenever I try to collect traps it comes up with this bind error message.

Make sure that port 162 is not being used aby any other application on this machine.

Ditto!
Or to be more helpful: You might want to check to see what other processes or apps are running on your box besides CWorks.
