Stackable 3750 vs. Chassis based 4500 & 6500

I would like to know the pro's and con's of going with the new Cisco 3750 stackable POE AF switches versus going with the traditional chassis-based 4500 or 6500.

Hi,

you can't liken the switches really. You must heading many factors. But i will try it:

The switch will determined through the customers requirements. The catalyst 3750 is the switch with the lowest performance of the three. The stackwise technolgie is a nice feature, the switch act as logical unit and you must only configure one switch. The big advantage from this switch is the price. For aprox. 20000 Dollar you can buy 2 to three cat 3750 and stacked them together. A catalyst 4500 with sup IV or V has higher performance and transmission values. And the cat 6500 with the sup 720 is the king of them. But when you buy a cat 6500 with sup 720 and some modules you must pay more than 50000 Dollars. The advantage is the super performance, the module variety and most comprehensive software. A goog overview over the different switches shows you the links:
