When working out the subnets and hosts, when you use the power of 2 to work them out, I know you minus 2 for useable hosts, do we do this for networks also ?

No, you must take the square root, multiply that by three (3) and round up to the nearest power of seven (7)

Cheers Carl!

Hi,

If a network address is subnetted, the first subnet obtained after subnetting the network address is called subnet zero.

When a network address is subnetted, the last subnet obtained is called the all-ones subnet.

to use subnet zero network

use this command

ip subnet-zero

HTH

thanks
