I am looking into the Cisco gear for a switch that can survive an Industrial environment. Some device that can stay in a dusty, noise, high vibration and subject to wether condition. If you have anything please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

You can use pretty much any switch that fits your needs, you just need to put it in a NEMA enclosure.

Here's some general info on NEMA enclosures:

http://enclosures.globalspec.com/LearnMore/Mechanical_Components/Enclosures/NEMA_Electrical_Enclosures_Boxes

Here's an example of a vendor's catalog for NEMA boxes:

By their nature, switches are going to have exposed openings (except, perhaps opticals with either a connector or plug installed in the jack) .... your best option is a sealed enclosure.

Good Luck

You might want to look at our 2940 series switches

The 2955 is an industrial ethernet switch, should meet the harsh environment conditions.

Thanks for the information. I will use it as alternative in my recomendation.

You helped me a lot.
