I'm looking for an application that can gather Syslogs from routers and firewalls (various manufacturers within the network). Then with the data that is collected I want to create customized reports.
I have looked at NVision and Webtrends. Didn't like Webtrends, NVision seems to be pretty decent but I would like to have more options. Any suggestions?

Two companies that come to mind are Network Intelligence and e-Security that have products that can do this for you (one is high end and the other is almost plug and play for smaller shops). However they aren't free, but then again I don't think there are any products that will have reports that are free. Syslog yes, but not reporting.
Hope it helps.

Since syslog messages all end up in a syslog log file, you can netcool syslog probe to gather all the information. Then you can use the netcool reporter to do reports on information gathered. Cisco has a similar product called Cisco Info center which is based on netcool and it works with the netcool
reporter.
