TCP Keepalive

I have an application running on an NT server which is using a Protocol Translation service (TCP<->X.25, NB this is NOT XOT!) on a Cisco router (2651, IOS 12.2(13)T).

Should the NT server lose comms through the router, it abandons its TCP connections after 14 seconds. However, the Cisco doesn't abandon its TCP connections for upto 5 minutes.

This has a resource implication on the protocol translation router as, should comms be restored between the NT server and router, new X25 SVCs will be established - possibly causing twice the original number of SVCs to be used.

We have configures "service tcp-keepalives-in".

My question: Is it possible to lower the TCP keepalive value on a Cisco; ideally to around 10s?

Perhaps there is a documented (we cant find it) / hidden command?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

The service tcp-keepalives-in and service tcp-keepalives-out are the only commands I am aware of that could reduce the TCP keepalive value.
