using a uBR7246VXR running IOS 12.2(11)BC3c. Question I have is regarding several cable modems which are registered "online" with no IP (0.0.0.0). We are using the source-verify dhcp command on each card to enforce all users acquiring IP's via our dhcp server; could this be the reason - as understood the source-verify would prevent any statically-assigned IP's from being routed without actually forcing the modem itself offline - ??
Show no CPE devices attached to any of these modems, and this is not modem manufacturer-specific.
Any info would be appreciated.
thanks,

You seem to be running into CSCdy56823 modem online with IP address 0.0.0.0 fixed in 12.2(15)BCx.
After you do a sh cable modem | inc 0.0.0.0 can you "ping docsis
Thanks, Mak.

Yes, the "ping docsis" command works; the CM is at customer's location (I have no access to the CM without rolling a svc truck to retrieve) so whether net access works or not is unknown. Have approx. 60 out of some 2700 CM's displaying this on the uBR. Where the IP address would normally be displayed in the sh cable modem output it reads "unavailable".
thanks for your help.

Do the modems happen to be Com21s? We saw this problem in our network where if a modem did not receive a respnse from the TFTP server in time, the modem used some sort of internal config file.
