Can I implement Unicast RPF on a L3 VLAN interface instead of a physical router interface? Thanks.

I don't know of any specific restriction and have seen it been applied in many networks.

Hope this helps,

The VLAN interface doesn't take the following command. Any idea?

ip verify unicast reverse-path

Thanks.

Catalyst 4500 with IOS 12.1(19)

Thanks.

Hello,

according to the software advisor, with the Basic L3 feature pack, you need at least IOS version 12.1(20)EW1 (cat4000-i9s-mz.12.1-20.EW1) for CEF and IP Unicast Reverse-Path Forwarding. Which Supervisor do you have in your 4500 (and which model of 4500 do you have) ?

Regards,

Georg
