wic-1t permanently at DCE

I have a 3745 with a single WIC-1T installed. The serial interface config has a default command 'clockrate 200000' forcing the interface to be a dce. I can't get rid of this line to make interface dte as normal.

IOS is 12.3(6b) - filename c3745-bins-mz.123-6b.bin

Any advise please.

The cable that is attached is what determines if it is a DTE or DCE. Check the cable and it should state it at such then replace it with a DTE cable.

i've just plugged a male x.21 cable in and it reverted to dte.
