ASA5512-K9 VS ASA5512-MB

Hi all,

I want to know the difference between K9 & MB in the ASA5512-K9 & ASA5512-MB. I want to upload/activate the AnyConnect License on the ASA. Which serial number should be using to get the activation-key? The serial number is different in the both K9 & MB. Which ASA's serial number should I be using? Also, there is a HA pair. While getting the license, I'm receiving error something like Duplicate.

Thanks for the reply.

But, the serial number on my CLI of the ASA is of MB after I checked with the #show version command.

The serial number of ASA5512-MB starts with FCHXXXXXXXX.

While the serial number of ASA5512-K9 starts with FGLXXXXXXXXX.

Also, my ASA's are in HA Pair, so while procuring the AnyConnect License how many devices serial numbers should I add?

can you post-show version and show modules to look.

"Starting with Version 8.3(1), you do not have to have matching licenses on both units. Typically,
you buy a license only for the primary unit; the secondary unit inherits the primary license when it
becomes active"
