What if i dont know the initial password or username?

For that you will need to do password recovery for the IPS-SSM module.
hw-module module slot_number password-reset
above command will reset password and default username to cisco
go over this link mid page down in IPS applience version 5 & 6

Password recovery on your AIP-SSM depends on the ASA/IPS version. For older versions you have to re-image. On new versions you can run this command from the ASA:
