Connection Help

I am trying to connect to my server at work through VPN client version 4.0.4 on my XP pro machine(5.1.2600).. I connect just fine but I can't see the remote server in network places and I can't map it as a network drive..

I am using group authentication with a password..

Can anyone help

can you ping it by:

ip address?

hostname?

fully qualified hostname?

are you running wins, and if so, are you passing that wins server parameter to vpn clients?

I went into command prompt and pinged the ip address of my server and I got a response when I ping the host name it says it can't find it. Not sure what a fully qualified host name is
