Does anyone know a quick and easy way to do this without using access lists? I am using IOS 12.x and would like to block the ports associated with the WIndows Messenger Service from coming into my company network. Thanks!

I appreciate your feelings that access lists get cumbersome and have an impact of traffic in.
Another line to deny 135 is the first recommendation.
Otherwise there is freeware to be have to run on workstations to disable/enable Messenger.
And otherwise maybe it's time to consider putting a hardware firewall behind router to ease the load and make policy changes easier for yourselves.

You need a real firewall, or to arrange with cisco to upgrade your IOS to a firewall feature set. You need to learn to love ACLs. You can block messenger with a simple ACL, but that will only stop that particular "vulnerability"
