IPS Signature updates for MARS

Hi!

I see that Cisco stopped releasing IPS signature updates for CS-MARS. For IPS we have S538. And for MARS is only S535. Can any Cisco fellow  shed some light on the issue? Will Cisco release any updates for MARS? Or we won't see any updates after EoS announce for MARS, will we?

Hi,

Cisco is still releasing IPS signature updates  for MARS.  I just checked the cisco.com download site, and the latest  available MARS IPS signature update is S537 (filename is  IPS-CS-MARS-Sig-S537.zip, posted on December 28, 2010).  The very latest  IPS update, S538, posted yesterday for IPS devices, but I do not see  S538 yet for MARS.  I suspect that there's a slight delay in the posting  of the MARS version of the latest IPS signature update.

Are  you having a problem with the MARS and automatic IPS updates?

Here's some additional information regarding the EoS for MARS, see link below.  Note that the "End of Signature Updates" date is June 2, 2014, so you still have a few more years of IPS signature releases for MARS.

Thank you for your fast reply. Indeed I had a problem with my browser's bookmarks. They pointed to the old part of Cisco site (http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl?topic=279644034). This part is not updated. I looked through new download site and finally found all necessary files.

For anyone else looking, the new MARS Signature download area is here:

They've also added a note on the legacy download page (finally).  They didn't add a link to the new download area, but something's better than nothing, I guess.

Actually, all of the MARS download pages have changed.  Here are all the new areas:

• CS-MARS IPS Signature Updates
• CS-MARS Patches and Utilities
• CS-MARS Recovery Software
• CS-MARS Upgrade Packages

The great part is that MARS packages are now part of the standard CCO software download area, just like the IPS and CSM updates.  Now they can be added to the "cart" with everything else.
