I have a point-to-point IPSEC-VPN tunnel between a pair of pix firewalls. I want to know if the fixup protocol works for VPN traffic? Specifically for FTP. Will FIXUP inspect FTP packets that travel over the vpn tunnel?
Yes. If you are looking at an Order of Operation from the point of view of a packet going from inside to outside on the PIX (where the VPN tunnel is on the outside interface), packet inspection occurs before encryption.
