UniFirst is currently looking into replacing our Raptor NT Firewall with a PIX. A feature currenting in use with the Raptor is a subscription service that updates a "local" Raptor database with websites that you may want to "block" from users. Each site a user visits is "compared" to this list and access is denied if the site is on the list.
The automatic update of the databse is key. It eliminates the task of having to hand-key "blocked" web sites.
How is "blocking" of web sites performed on the PIX and if the PIX doesn't have a service, like described above, is there a 3rd party that will perform the function?
UniFirst also currently controls who has access to the web by the use of a userid. We have Cisco ACS in place (for router access security). Can Cisco ACS, in conjuction with the PIX, be used to control web access and log Web activity via user name instead of IP address?
