Is it possible to get more info about your problem?
Which protocols are used, how many access-list are applied,...

We are running on TCP/IP. We have about 70 workstations and 2 database servers inside of LAN that is a big flat network. 2 Web Server at DMZ. Would it be better if we split our inside LAN to different segments to seperate out database server to all the workstations? And if yes, how?

Hi,
It could be that your server is trying to resolve the domain name of the sender via reversed name lookup, while reversed dns for the inside IP adresses is not implemented. If this is the case you might see this kind of behaviour.
Kind Regards,
Leo
