VPN Through a Pix 525

I have users on my internal network that need to VPN out to a vendor using IPSEC. Is there a way to set up the Pix to allow the connection to go through? Right now it gets so far and times out. Also, if you could point me to an explaination on how this would work, I would appreciate it.

Yes, you can configure the PIX to allow IPSec(VPN) traffic through the PIX.

You need to allow ESP (IP 50) and UDP 500 ports for the end-to-end devices.

Here is an example, look at the PIX configuration, allowing IPSec traffic for the end-to-end IPSec devices;
