Hi everyone,

I just began to deep dive in some brand new ASR 1001.

I read about that functionnality and try to play with ... but unfortunatly it doesn't work.

- Hardware & Software Info:

IOS-XE Software (X86_64_LINUX_IOSD-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.2(4)S2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

IOS XE Version: 03.07.02.S

4 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces

32768K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.

4194304K bytes of physical memory.

7741439K bytes of eUSB flash at bootflash:.

- EULA accepted

- extract of the "show feature license"

ASR1K# show license feature

Feature name             Enforcement  Evaluation  Subscription   Enabled  RightToUse

adventerprise              yes               yes            no                 yes        yes

sw_redundancy           yes               yes            no                 yes        yes

- adventerprise image loaded at boot

- I enter the following command and obtain the following results:

As you can see when ASR reload, it always prompt us to save the config and boot again like it asked when i entered the mode sso command ... weird !

After login when i issue a "show platform" my RP is alone and active but no second process !

Is anyone has already configure that redundancy on ASR1001, the document contradict himself about that support ...

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/asr1000/configuration/guide/chassis/High_Availability.html#wp1058945

It says YES with some limitation and a paragraph below talk just about 1002 & 1004 platform ...

Thx for you help.

Hi Stephane,

Any good news in getting the dual ios up and running on the ASR-1001? I'm also interested in enabling the dual ios feature on our 1001's...

BR!

ASR1001 does not have the same architecture as ASR1002 and other ASR/1k

models. With ASR1001, RP, FP, CC are integrated and run on the same

Linux kernel. With ASR1002 and other models, RP/FP/CC have dedicated

CPU/Memory resource for each component.

What this means is that for SSO to be operational on ASR1001, we have

stated that you need to have 8GB. In other words, setting the redundancy

mode to none OR SSO in configuration does not matter when the node only

has 4GB DRAM. Regardless of what is configured, SSO will not be

operational when you have 4GB on a ASR/1001. This is documented at

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/asr1000/configuration/guide/chassis/issu.html
