What are my options for redundancy on one ASR, 2 interfaces. I know I have options like HSRP and VRRP but I am looking for something I can do between two interfaces on the same router.
Perhaps policy routing is my solution. I have to do some more research on IOS XR. What do you guys think?

Hello Mark,
check if IRB integrated routing and bridging can be used in that case the L3 config will be on a BVI interface and the interfaces are associated to the bridge-group.
Hope to help

Hi,
IRB is not yet supported on XR. What about link-bundling ?

Exactly. Link bundling - or Ethernet's LAG - or Cisco's EtherChannel
is supported on IOS-XR since 3.7.2+. The options are actually quite plenti
ful and allow for either standard LACP load balancing options or newer 1:1 settings.
Please note, the 1:1 settings only allow 1 active and 1 standby, but the regular LACP option allows for up to 8 active with 32 inactive members.
The nice thing about this is that LAG is a IEEE standard and not a Cisco standard so interoperability is more likely with another service provider that uses other than Cisco.
