You can refer to the below support community document by Alex:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/59901/asr9000xr-understanding-qos-default-marking-behavior-and-troubleshooting

Also you can refer to the configuration guide (i am sure you might have already searched for that). But the above document has more clarification of QoS and how it works on platform.

Hope this helps.

Vinit

Thanks

@Vinit Jain  - i would like to thank u for ur replay ,but

this document is very nice but nothing more ....

is there some thing else ?

i am specifically searching for the police and shape command !!!

Hello,

Below CCO document will have most of the information on policing and shaping on XR platforms.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/xr12000/software/xr12k_r4-1/qos/configuration/guide/qc41xr12kbook/qc41cong.html

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/asr9k_r4-3/qos/configuration/guide/b_qos_cg43xasr/b_qos_cg43asr_chapter_0100.html

Please note that there wont be any impact with these commands when configured properly. Also the behavior should be as documented in this link unless there is a software defect being hit.

There are some good Cisco Live sessions on this topic:

https://www.ciscolive.com/online/connect/sessionDetail.ww?backBtn=true&SESSION_ID=77806

https://www.ciscolive.com/online/connect/sessionDetail.ww?SESSION_ID=7067&tclass=popup

Hope this helps.

Thank u for ur response , but still this stuff is not satisfying ....

cus after i read it , i still can not say that i truly understand ....

but i found some good files on the topic ...

still not 100% greate but best so far .... =)

Regards,

i would like to ask some more spesific questions :

1.bandwidth remain percent X  - what does this command do execly ?

2.there are 2 type of police

       1.single bucket , single token

              policy-map NAME
                      class NAME
                          police <CIR><unit> burst <BC> <unit>   || percent <1-100>

       2.dual bucket , dual toke

               policy-map NAME
                   class NAME
                        police <CIR><unit> || percent <1-100> burst <BC> <unit>...                                                           peak-rate <PIR> peak-burst<unit>

first of all i do not understand  those 3 parameters

remain percent X,percent <1-100>, and also i will appriciate the differance between

shape avarage and peak .... =)

Regards.
