I have an old Continuum DVP eXtra Dense QAM Array that I';m trying to setup in our lab. I can't find any documentation on this device besides the the data sheet. Anyone had the User Guide and/or Configuration Guide for this device? I could probably figure most of it out if I could just login to it. From what I've read, it has a web- based interface, but I have no idea what the IP is currently set to. Thanks in advance for any info.
This is the device: http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/video/edge-qam-modulators/product_data_sheet0900aecd806d1943.pdf

Hello, kusridha
I was using the mapping assistant tool , but I did not find the option to enable or disable the udp port,
I am sending an MPEG-TS with my Laptop to XDQA-24, perhaps the network cable is not well configured.
Sure that this does not need a license program.
I have read almost everything and can not find the solution to udp port.
could be the combination of the network cable, although the xdqa-24 receive the error bitrate..
any idea or information I will be very grateful.
Thanks again
regards
Odalis

Please check the section "To Change Mapping Table Entries" in the Mapping Assistant Tool application note. Here you can set up the streams to be received by xDQA24. There is a parameter called Status for each entry. This can be set to Enabled, Disabled or Don't Load entry. This should be set to enabled for the UDP streams to be passed to the port. You also need to enter the multicast IP address and UDP port number.
xDQA24 doesn't have any license requirement.
You may also try enabling the Auto-negotiation for the input GbE port on the Input page.

Hello, kusridha
I was testing with the mapping assistant tool, the parameter is set to Enabled, but I could not do anything with the udp port .
I have two xdqa24 and both do the same, do not light the udp port.
I am sending a UDP stream with VLC, the xdqa24, it presents the error bit rate, but this does not present the receiver bit rate.
Any idea, kusridha
I spent hours testing without answers, this does not work.
many many thanks for your attention and answers.
Sincerely
Odalis.

Hi Odalis,
There is one option in Device menu "SDV Enabled".
I had the same issue when it was set to "true".
Set it to "false" if it isn't and test again.

Hello,
I have a xDQA24 that i'm trying to use in europe with this config:
ITU-A; 8Mhz ch spacind; QAM256; sr 6.900.
With no input stream mapped I use a DVB-C receiver to test the signal.
I scan one frequency, and it finishes instant with 0 programs found. (ALL OK)
When I use as input a MPTS CBR transport stream with all info (NIT for DVB-C..etc) the scan lasts for about 15 second the it returns an answer "0 programs found".
I read info from "Measuring" and here it is:

Please let me know if I am doing something wrong...
I tried another mapping using a SPTS stream.
I mapped it according to manual, but still no results.
Waiting for an answer.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello Odalis
The only thing I can suggest is to check the Input page and ensure Input 1 is selected as the main input and Main to back switching is disabled (just to make sure that Input 1 remains the Main input).
Other than that I can only think of some incompatibility with either the incoming stream or the SFP you are using or there may be some problem with the xDQA24.
This device has been discontinued in April 2009 and is no longer supported by Cisco. So, it is hard for me to provide any additional support.

Kumar

Hello how are you , Kusridha
kusridha, I agree with you, I'll check the computer with which I am doing streaming, and I'll buy another SFP, to do all the tests again. Since I receive the SFP and perform tests, I tell you the results.
thank you for your prompt response and good intentions.
very thankful.
Odalis.

Kumar,
Hello , we forgot the password how can we do factory reset (continuum dense qam array 24)
best regards,

I am still checking to find out. As this product is now obsolete and not supported anymore, it is taking longer.

Kumar,
thanks I did a FullInstall_DQA but still asking for a password at the Gui. Maybe by ftp or telnet.???
10-01-2015 05:37 PM
I am not sure if the box has FTP or Telnet support.
However, I found there is a hidden account meant only for engineering purposes and not usually given to customers. Since the device is obsolete and not supported by Cisco anymore, I am sharing it here.

Hello , thanks for your replay . I tried the password but nothing . I think factory reset resolve the problem. If you can have information how to it please let me know.

I exhausted all resources trying to find a way to factory reset. No success.
There is only one method I can think of. There was a tool used for upgrading the xDQA24 called Upgrade-It. I have attached it here. After you open the application, add the IP address of your xDQA24, right-click on the IP address and select reboot. You will have an option to choose either Warm or Cold. If you select Cold, I think it will do a factory reset.

Kumar
