I am trying to replicate my Internet edge in my lab and I am struggling to understand how PEs are configured to peer with my CEs.
For what I can tell the PEs are advertising the default route using the network 0.0.0.0 so I set this up and set up a static route in the PE to set the default route to null0.
So now my CEs can see the default route. I am still seeing other routes via BGP though that are upstream. Are they running route-maps to filter this stuff? I have a firewall southbound of my internet edge so session state will take care of return traffic.
Is there an article or blog or Cisco Docs to read on how the ISP magic works to the customer CEs?
