Testing SCE 8000 Bypass

Hi everyone,

i would like to ask a question about an idea that came in my minde,

i would like to test the transtion from forwarding to internal bypass on the SCE 8000 4x10GBE and while searching i found this great command :

force failure-condition 

as far as i know the SCE automatically goes to bypass when there's a failure.

my question is : will the SCE transition to bypass mode when i'll apply this commande to simulate a virtual on the SCM ? if not , is there a way to test bypass on SCE 8000 4x10GBE

Hi Cisko,

          It will be vaild to test bypass mechanism using force failure-condition, but basically it is not a safe way to test features in production line, i believe you should do that in test bed or your lab.

     Actually the main function of this command is wehn upgrading SCE boxes in a cascade topology ... kindly double check the failure recovery mode in operation mode while your test ...
