I'm looking to move to cisco wireless for my home. just wondering what the difference between V01, V03, V08 is.... I figure its hardware revisions but does anyone know if there is a version to stay away from or if there is a version to look for since I will be purchasing used? any help is appreciated

I do not think this information available to the public. Anyway, go with the latest available.

Make sure you get it with Autonomous image on it (k9w7 - refer below post for more detail). Otherwise you required a WLC - Wireless LAN Controller to manage that AP. Without Cisco maintenance contract you cannot download autonomous image from cisco.com
