Hello, have a god day!

I have a problem with a wireless network, al the access Point model 1700i was joined to a WLC, but this Wlc was Crashed.

My question is if I can re-join those access Point to the new WLC without press the reset button, because all the AP´s are mounted on the Wall.

If the answer is yes, how can I do that?

There are multiple ways,

As long as you configure DHCP option 43 to point to new WLC management IP address

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless-mobility/wireless-lan-wlan/97066-dhcp-option-43-00.html

or

add a DNS entry you should see those AP will register to new WLC

CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER.<local_domain_name> to resolve your new WLC management IP address

Thanks for your answers.

But there is a problem, the Access Point has a static IP Address.

With the DNS option thay you tell me can I solve the problem?

Yes, DNS method will work. Let us know how it goes

Here is another option, broadcast forwarding

Humm,  static IP on the AP, but does not link to a wlc.  Is this a SAP1702?  rather than a CAP1702?
