Hi expert out there,

Anyone have experience to power AP2802i with Normal Cisco PoE switch and without external POE injector?

I am a bit confuse with the datasheet powering option. Is that must be UPOE switch or normal PoE switch with sufficient power will do?

thanks for help.

"normal PoE" is 15.4w and this is not sufficient.  This will only power up the AP but one of the two radios will be disabled.

2800 requires 30.0w power.

Hi Leo,

How about PoE+ switch? by theory PoE+ switch should be alright to power up the AP2802i right?  not sure in real, will it have any problem or losses that cause the powering problem?

There are some switches out there that advertise as "PoE+" but can only support up to 20.0w.

As long as the switch can supply 30.0w to a port the 2800 will work.
