Hello,

 

Yes, 5508 support 1602.

 

View in release notes, because in some version, some APs not supported.

 

Bellow last version of firmware: 8.5.151.0 ED

Supported Cisco Access Point Platforms

The following Cisco AP platforms are supported in this release:

  • Cisco Aironet 1600 Series Access Points

IF the WLC is loaded with the correct firmware, yes.

Hello,

 

When AP join in WLC, he is download firmware of WLC.

 

I like to see release notes of version because sometimes Cisco changes support APs depending version.

That is defined in the wlc firmware release notes. That is a good place to check along with the wlc compatibility matrix.
