CIsco 3802E upgrading to last image 8.3.120

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade our Cisco AP 3802E to the last mobility express image 8.3.20 and I am getting the following error

Image downloaded, writing to flash...
do CHECK_ME, part1 is active part
tar: write error: No space left on device
sh: write error: No space left on device

Error, image file size is smaller than image+key+signature 0x02672000 : 0x0283a839
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
part.bin signature verification failure, exit the script
Error: Image update failed.

 please advise

looks like you are hitting a bug CSCva95581

you will have to Contact TAC

Symptom:
AP 3800 unable to upgrade bec No space left on device

Conditions:
Seen while pre-image download

Workaround:
None

Yes,

You can connect it to WLC and upgrade it to VER  8.3 and after that to convert it to Mobility

express 8.3

Experiance the same issue with my gears and here is what I did to make it work

Upgrade the AP software (CAPWAP) to the latest version then I used the Mobility Express 8.3(102) and everything worked just fine

It looks like your AP's image is already load version 8.xx. Try to convert to lightweight first then convert to ME image. it works for mine.
