Hi guys,

I have a problem with a Cisco Aironet 1815i.

I have a Call Manager Server with DHCP and all telephones has a IP, all Pcs, but when I connect my Aironet 1815i (without config) It can't take an IP address.

I want change the access point mode to bridge, but when i want do it, it said that i haven't the name, neither mac address.

Any suggestion is appreciate!

I'm stay waiting!

Re: Cisco Aironet 1815i Change Mode Bridge

Can you please show the console output?
I suspect it's a CAPWAP model and it's searching for a non-existing WLC.

Re: Cisco Aironet 1815i Change Mode Bridge

Patoberli,

Thanks a lot for your response.

Yes, It's searching for a non-existing WLC.

Now, I'm reseting the Access Point, and I'm configuring it.

It is a putty Log for the first time power on:

Management Interface IP Address: 192.168.1.1
Management Interface Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Management Interface Default Router: 192.168.1.254
Cleaning up Provisioning SSID
Create Management DHCP Scope? [yes][NO]: NO
Create Employee Network? [YES][no]: YES
Employee Network Name (SSID)?: TelefoniaIP
Employee Network Security? [PSK][enterprise]: PSK
Employee PSK Passphrase (8-63 characters)?: *********
Re-enter Employee PSK Passphrase: ********
Enable RF Parameter Optimization? [YES][no]: YES
Client Density [TYPICAL][Low][High]: TYPICAL
Traffic with Voice [NO][Yes]: NO

Configuration correct? If yes, system will save it and reset. [yes][NO]: yes

My Call Manager has DHCP. He is sending pool ip address 172.17.52.*

Re: Cisco Aironet 1815i Change Mode Bridge

Ok, then I suggest another initial configuration.

Here my suggestion:
Management Interface IP Address: 172.17.52.150 (make sure this IP is not used/reserved for the AP on the DHCP)
Management Interface Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Management Interface Default Router: 172.17.52.x (IP of your primary Gateway)
Cleaning up Provisioning SSID
Create Management DHCP Scope? [yes][NO]: NO
Create Employee Network? [YES][no]: YES
Employee Network Name (SSID)?: TelefoniaIP
Employee Network Security? [PSK][enterprise]: PSK
Employee PSK Passphrase (8-63 characters)?: *********
Re-enter Employee PSK Passphrase: ********
Enable RF Parameter Optimization? [YES][no]: YES
Client Density [TYPICAL][Low][High]: TYPICAL
Traffic with Voice [NO][Yes]: NO

Configuration correct? If yes, system will save it and reset. [yes][NO]: yes

After the AP reboots, it should be available over the air with the created SSID or also via LAN (SSH and depending on the software also HTTP) via the IP 172.17.52.150.
