Hi,

We have a Cisco 1522AG configured as a MAP in our production network. Last week the AP went down. On investigating it keeps rebooting itself. constantly showing 4 orange leds, Maybe cant find the WLC? Is there a way to console into these devices to see whats happening in the background while its booting up or even reset it back to the factory defaults?

Hello,

Your access point is actively searching for a parent on the mesh network and if it does not find one for 40 mins the access point will reboot himself.

If you need console level debugging, you can access the console port by removing the top cover from the AP .

Thanks Rares, I did see in the documentation a RJ45 port in the section for connecting up a fibre to the AP but the docs did not say what was the RJ45 port. I'll try this out.

thks

Terry

Hello,

Terry, you can see in the link below where is the console port located after you remove the top cover.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/1520/installation/guide/1520_ch3.html#wp1099258

HTH,

Rares

Thanks for that. One more thing is there a way to factory reset the Mesh APs. Tried through the console but no luck there as the AP keeps rebooting itself after failing to assiociate to an RAP.
