Cisco Wireless CoAP IoT Discovery protocol

Hello Community,

i have a Challenge, i use a Wireless Virtual Controller with 3600 Access Points. Version 8.5.135.

Now, i will add Shelly IoT Devices (shelly.cloud) to a separate SSID. The IoT Devices are able to connect to the SSID i am also able to manage the devices via webserver but i am not able to discover These devices for adding These devices in a app. For discovery the app uses coap, but it is not working in a normal Cisco wireless Environment.

Has anybody an idea, what the issue is?

Thanks

Markus

I did see this mentioned about CoAP:

CoAP is designed for use between devices on the same constrained network

From that I would gather that the devices and server need to be on the same VLAN at least.

You'll need to check the spec for that protocol but I'd be wondering:
- does it require multicast - if so do you have multicast enabled?
- sounds like the app operates as peer-to-peer so you'll have to disable client isolation (noting the security implications of course).
