I want to know what is part 1 and part 2  shown below

Partition.

Partition 1 and 2 are places where the AP stores the primary and secondary IOS.

This a part of  show version

AP Running Image : 8.3.102.0
Primary Boot Image : 8.3.102.0
Backup Boot Image : 8.2.121.0

You mean part 1 is primary and part 2 is backup ?

but I am running part 2 now , and  I can change part 1  to part 2 by myself,is there any different between 1 and 2?

You mean part 1 is primary and part 2 is backup ?

Partition 1 & 2 alternates which one is the "primary" or "secondary".  It depends on the boot variable string of each individual APs.  Some APs might boot Partition 1 and some might boot Partition 2.

Changing the which image the AP will boot will depend on what the firmware the WLC is running.  You can force the AP to boot Partition 2 but if it is not the same firmware the WLC is running on, the WLC will force the AP to AP to boot the correct firmware.

I use Aironet 3802E

So part 1 is CAPWAP image ?       part 2 is Mobility Express image ?

Is that right?

So part 1 is CAPWAP image ?       part 2 is Mobility Express image ?

It could be any.  It is not necessary to Partition 1 will always be CAPWAP and Partition 2 will always be MobEx.  It can go either way.

Thanks a lot !

Hello,

How can I have both partitions with the same version number?

Thanks

Why I configure to part 1 but it's not change, it always boot the path 2 image?

Thank you very much.

It is always best practice to have different images on the parts so if any defect arise on the active you can always roll back to a previous one without spending additional time to download the new image.
