Deploying Meraki APs in a shopping mall with Aruba APs - Concerns?

Hi!

We recently had a customer who is thinking of deploying Meraki APs in a shopping mall that already has Aruba APs deployed; the main reason for deploying Meraki APs is to collect customer data for analytics and marketing purposes.

Are there any real concerns with wifi interference? As I understand, the APs would try to share the channels, but not sure how well this works in theory or in practice. Anyone has any comments on this?

Thanks!

Yes, it will affect both vendors AP performance.

If you have same vendor product, then AP will assign channels/power depend on how they hear each other. But if you have two different vendor product, they will not talk to each other and treat one as "unknown interferes"
