Disable mac-address learning per Vlan effect on Cisco Unified WLAN

Hi,

As we all know, capwap tunnel is built from lightweight AP to WLC on a Unified WLAN. What are your thoughts when you disable the mac learning on the switch example on the management VLAN of AP?

TIA!

I have never done that nor know anyone, along with clients that disable that. I would ask, what is the use Case for you to disable that and then you know what the outcome would be?

Hi Scott,

No such use cases present, I am just wondering what would be the effect on that procedure on the CAPWAP APs, will it benefit the switch by gaining less CPU utilization since MAC addresses of clients are not learned by the switch itself rather it is tunneled to the WLC.

I think you would need to test that and then see he impact when all the AP’s bounce for example. I don’t know what truly would happen.
